BIO

Osuna’s artwork is creating an entirely new way to experience art. Merging visually kinetic art, action painting and abstract art, Osuna pushes established art genres into a new territory. Osuna’s cutting-edge artwork merges action painting with abstract and visually kinetic art genres.

Born on August 6, 1956, in Venezuela, Oswaldo Osuna, professionally known as “Osuna,” has dedicated his life to his love for art. He came to the United States at the age of 21 to pursue a degree in Architecture at North Carolina State University. While traveling from Venezuela to the United States, the box containing Osuna’s academic transcripts and art work was lost. Before being admitted to The School of Architecture, Osuna was required to meet with the Dean. Not having any documentation, the Dean chose to trust Osuna, taking him at his word, and he was admitted. Osuna says this moment, when he experienced “the best of humanity,” has defined his life, and the way he lives.
WORK
Osuna’s artwork reflects his lifelong fascination for architecture, science, and abstract art.  His artistry is a fusion of his formal education, and studied skills and techniques from art masters around the world. What makes Osuna’s pieces truly innovative and one-of-a-kind, is his heart.  From the first layer of paint, to the linear line’s precise equations, to choosing colors, to shaping the metal, every decision is based on Osuna’s emotions and surroundings.

“I always begin with two colors for the graphic base. The magic begins when I am thinking of which color to begin the acrylic abstract art. It’s almost like the color calls to me, asking to be used.”

“My artwork has an end and a beginning. That’s what I’m trying to convey with my art. Every action has a reaction. There is always good and bad.”
